All right, I'll get this rolling.
I'm a lifetime reader and writer of horror, mystery, and speculative fiction. I write...well...my business cards say "Writer of Dark Speculative Fiction." Does that clear it up for anyone?
I had my first paying credits last year: a short story in Dead Science and two poems in Vicious Verses and Reanimated Rhymes. I am currently working on a number of projects, only some of which have zombies in them.
Non-horror interests include criminology and forensic science (I'm pursuing my MA in Criminology and Criminal Justice), photography, Halloween, haunted houses, computer games, RPGs, living on-line, and a number of other Geekish pursuits.

Greetings everyone! Glad you are here! I am Peggy, your perky cruise director...wait, I mean GLAHW Secretary! I am the keeper and organizer of your information, so that we can readily stalk...wait, I mean CONTACT you about stuff...important, um...business-y stuff...yeah, that's it.. I was introduced to the group by my cousin and your VP, Tom Sawyer. He loves me, so you should too...I'm just sayin... ANYWAY, I have spent my entire life watching and reading horror. I have spent the past year trying to actually write it. You are all great inspirations to me, so keep writing so I can borrow...wait, I mean LEARN from your stories. I am a member of the subgroup known as the Peggi (Peggy Christie and I) and if you come to a meeting or a convention, she is the pretty, intellectual one, I am the shorter, really loud one..we're both pretty amusing...when we want to be...let's see, I also love video games, Facebook, photography, performing with my theater group, and would love to go to some REAL haunted houses..I'm currently looking into tours for the group. If you have any suggestions, please let me know! "Fear is the lock and laughter the key to your heart." - Crosby, Stills, and Nash, Suite: Judy Blue Eyes

OK guess it's my turn! I'm am the other Peggy of the collective, Peggi. Peggy L might be shorter but I'm not sure she's louder... Anyhoo, I'm the one who updates the website, puts the newsletter together (with offerings from the rest of this wacky group we call GLAHW), and casts dispersions on your family when you're not looking. If you want me to put anything up on the website (links to your stuff, writings, favorite pickle recipe) just let me know. I'm also a writer and have been writing for about 10 years. I think I've made about $20. Awesome.

My name is MontiLee Stormer, and the fact that I can make kill people under the guise of writing "horror fiction" and get paid for it tickles me silly. I primarily write Dark Urban Fantasy, but as the genre cross-pollinates well with Horror, we'll just call it horror for now. Plus, I never want to have my work confused with those latex-clad, tramp-stamped, "No Species Left Behind" bedding "slayers". Behind my smiling eyes and cheerful smile lies a bitch and I won't hesitate to cut you. Anyway ... I'm currently the Events Coordinator for Great Lakes, and I get to plan really neat outings for the group. Even if you can't be with us personally for every event, I whole-heartedly encourage you to participate in Newbie Sacrifice Night. Wait ... ... Forget I said that. I was first published in 2006, and I've been on a steady if not completely direct roll ever since. I've been printed in strange and wonderful places like Black Ink Horror, Murky Depths, and coming in April 2010, Necrotic Tissue. While short stories, especially flash fiction, are my raison d'etre, I do have a few novels currently awaiting polish, such as Isle of Shadows, written by collaborator and all around snazzy dresser, Rob Callahan, Never, The Caretaker, and The Cat Dragged Inn. I can frequently be seen lurking on Facebook, Twitter, and were it not for my knitting and crocheting, I'd be writing this from prison.

ML-
Is the NSN black tie/black robe or are we going informal this year? Just trying to get a handle on the "really neat" part.
Newbies, ignore this question.

Black hides all sins, as they were.
If it ain't broke, don't fix it.
If it's not broken enough, switch to the hammer with the larger head.

Hey Y'all
Nice to be here. I hope everyone gets some good use out of these new boards. They sure do look purtty.
I'm A. W. Gifford and I'm the President of this little group and have been since it's founding. I love all this horror, but lean more toward psychological horror, the messing with your mind horror that can really get in your head and mess things up.
I started writing horror in my teen years, but didn't see much suscess until three years ago when I sold-of all things-a science fiction short to Escape Velocity Magazine. I've had a slow, but steady trickle of sales since then and I currently have two novels that are awaiting polishing and two others that are so jumbled that it would be best just to burn them and start over.
My non-writing interrest are: Lapiday (gem cutting), Cooking (yes, I like to cook, especially bake), reading, and generally loafing in front of the TV.

My name is Tom Sawyer. Yeah, like the book. No I didn't sail down the friggin Mississippi either, though I may have ruined a Becky along the way. 'Nuff said there. I have always liked to write. I think it started in first grade, when on Monday we had to write a story and draw a picture of what we did on our weekends. Mine usually involved a monster movie somewhere. Anyways, I have always wanted to be a writer. I am a Zoner, as in a Twilight Zone fan. You have your Trekkies and Xfilers, with me it's the Twilight Zone. I am really not a fan of the hack and slash, slice and dice kind of horror movie. I prefer good old fashioned suspence. Give me the Hammer movies of the 50's and 60's, the giant bug and animal movies of the 50's or the Universal monster movies like what shown on Sir Graves and I'm happy. If there is alcohol involved, I'm even happier.
My writing career has involved working for newspapers as a sports and feature writer. I have been a freelance writer as well with papers like the The Oakland Press, the Daily Tribunes, The Eccentric Papers, etc. My first writing love is horror and sci-fi- I am a self-published author of the book The Lighthouse.
Other than being Vice-President and Public/ Media Relations Director I guess I am the resident nut who gets pretty drunk four to six times a year for certain occasions. I am also technologically retarded at times with modern technology.
Nice to meet you all!

Hi, I'm fresh fish, a brand new member. I'm John Rosenman, an old English professor and a former Chairman of the Board of the Horror Writers Association. It's good to be here. Since this is a horror writers assoc., I expect to be skewered and tortured here. But that's okay; I get the same at home. Although I've published a fair amount of horror, my novels are mostly SF action-adventure, cosmic in nature. Please check out my site at www.johnrosenman.com/Again, it's good to be here!
