We haz it, from the spaces in which we write to the tools we use, even the programs that house our WIP.
It makes sense that there are a lot of Author Blogs out there, far more than there used to be. I used to seek them out, trying to find that secret formula for successful writing, to do what my idols did, get a glimpse into that oft-spoken of, but rarely seen world of Fhrunk and White, and Merriman.
Now, I mostly avoid them, especially the ones that sell more than tell.
Authors Blogs are divided into two categories - Process and Life
Author Blogs: Process are of the written by an author that does nothing but talk about the techincal aspects of their creative process - they had this idea, the wrote with this program on this computer. For some people this is golden because they need to know the minutea.
Author Blogs: Life are slice of life stories that most bloggrs engage in - except that it's by an author. They're events whether it's walking the dog or going into town for groceries alwys sound a litle better coming from famous people.
I like the blogs I read to be more personal, because what is a blog after all but a re-telling of one's life, and who better to tell that story than an author. It stands to reason that part of an author's life is the Process of Writing, so I expect to see a few posts on it. My own is stuff I find and things that happen to me. It's only fascinating to me and my mother, as it's the next best thing to keeping me on the phone for an hour.
When you go searching for new blogs or Twitter accounts to follow, which do you prefer? Process or Life?
