I've always been fascinated with lost/presumed extinct animals. The story of the coelacanth is just fascinating to me. Ditto any cryptozoology stories. Right at the top of the list? Unidentified animals found in the wild. New mutation? Something which has been around for years but remained hidden? These always make me happy because it means there are still portions of the world which are a mystery, things which we don't know. I think that's a bear with that disease that makes an animal lose its hair. I forget the name.

That was my thought too, but the kangaroo tail threw me off. The facial structure does look an awful lot like one of the bears at the Detroit Zoo, except without fur.

Mange. Yeah, I don't see the kangaroo tail either. Looks like a sickly bear. Poor little guy...
