CURRENTLY ACCEPTING SUBMISSIONS FOR WORDCRAFT WEDNESDAYS’ LITERARY MAGAZINE…..ARTIFEX!
WORDcraft Wednesdays is a monthly literary reading series at Macomb Community College that features local area writers, including students, faculty, staff, and alumni!
Our mission is to support, encourage, and increase the knowledge and enjoyment of the literary arts in the Detroit area, the state, the region, and the world.
For this literary magazine, ARTIFEX, we will be accepting works of fiction, creative non-fiction, poetry, and drama.
Guidelines
Submissions for the spring 2015 semester issue will be accepted from now until April 15, 2015 and should be sent to castlen@macomb.edu as an electronic attachment, PREFERABLY as a Microsoft Word file. Notification of acceptance is by email within 2 weeks of receipt.
All attached submissions should be accompanied by a cover letter in the body of the the email with the following information:
• Name
• Titles of the works submitted
• Email Address, Phone Number, and Current Address
• A brief paragraph of biographical information. Tell us about yourself. For example, tell us what you do when you are not at school, where you work, about your hobbies, and past publications. Also write a few sentences about what inspired your piece of writing.
• Please include the Creative Writing Release Statement. **This can be found below.
Fiction, Creative Non-fiction, and Drama Submissions should be free of grammatical errors. Ideally, the submissions should not exceed more than 10 pages in length. Longer submissions may be considered, but only long pieces of exceptional quality will be published. (Excerpts from a novel or novellas are welcome). Submissions should be double –spaced, typed, and the page numbers should be clearly marked. Include your name, email, current address, and phone number on the submission.
Poetry submissions should be single-spaced, typed, and the title should be clearly marked for each poem. Include your name, email, current address, and phone number on the submission.
Creative Writing Release Statement
Please include this statement in your email cover letter. You may cut and paste it into the email or type it into the email cover letter.
I, (type your name), on this day (date) give permission that the creative work (s) submitted by me can be published in the WORDcraft Wednesdays literary magazine, ARTIFEX: Issue IV. I understand that my work will be viewed and read by the general public.
