I am working on nothing right now. I mean I have a few short stories in various stages of undress, but really, right now I'm spinning because of the movie.
It's not writer's block, but simple basic business. I think I may do a post on writing because it's one of those things new writers feel they need to do every day, and I've never been in that camp. I don't make myself write - unless I'm doing NaNoWriMo.

I'm the same way. If I force myself to write, then it seems less enjoyable to me. I'm not letting the story flow out at it's own pace. It's like sticking a finger down my throat to force myself to vomit. That's only good if I've eaten rat poison.

I have a full white board of material right now. My main goal is the long (novel length I hope) piece that I am planning on shopping around in the spring.
I am the opposite, I have to force myself to write something or I will simply stagnate. I recognize that I am essentially a lazy bastard who will put things off indefinitely if not motivated in some way. That being said, I will not force myself to work on something if I'm just not feeling it that day. That is part of the reason I like having a lot of little side projects to jump into. For example, I did not get a lot of fiction writing done the last two weeks of October, but I did a number of movie reviews and a couple of fun blogs over on my website. Just enough to prevent a layer of mould from growing on stagnant creative juices.

A werewolf western is occupying my time this week. Procrastination is my middle name and I have only five days left to complete this having just started it yesterday. Sometimes stories flow really well and then other times it seems I am grasping at trying to make coherent sentences above a second grade level!

Today I finished the "long version" synopsis for my YA paranormal novel, "The Ghosts of Wildrum High." It's too heavy at 1200 words (paraphrasing a novel of just 60,000 words) but it'll give me something to hack away at. This has been the Plug In the Pipe for about a month, the monster I've been avoiding while writing all sorts of ANYTHING else so it's a relief to get a solid draft.

Working on a zombie/Yakuza scifi story set in Detroit. Funny how u start out writing for a "zomrom antho" and then it turns into something else entirely! Perhaps it was due to my recent purchase of the anime' "DeathNote" from a garage sale down the street!
